About the Team

It’s an exciting time in technology, and that buzz is felt throughout PetSmart! We are continuing to grow at a faster pace and we want to continue to provide best-in-class experiences for pets and pet parents.
Our Technologyteam has 6 different departments: Information Security, Service Delivery, Business Enabling Systems, eCommerce & Marketing Technology, Data and Stores, Services & Supply Chain.
Whether it’s online or in our stores, the work that the IT team does is instrumental in PetSmart’s success. We have a strategic and actionable plan underway and are looking for associates who are just as excited about it as we are.

About the Location

Hybrid Position:
This position may be considered Hybrid based on PetSmart’s FlexSmart policy and business needs. A Hybrid work arrangement is considered to be a blend of onsite and remote work activity. Associates with a Hybrid work arrangement have a work space at Phoenix Home Office and can be required to come onsite between 1-5 days a week as determined by leadership and based on business needs.

Senior Manager, Data Delivery
Summary:
PetSmart is seeking a seasoned and strategic Senior Manager, Data Delivery, to lead the development and delivery of high-impact data products that drive business value. You will manage a talented team of analysts and engineers, fostering a collaborative environment for innovation and success.
Responsibilities:
Lead and Develop a High-Performing Team:

Attract, develop, and lead a team of data analysts, engineers (big data, integration, and analytics), ensuring successful delivery of enterprise-level data products within budget and timeline constraints.
Drive Data-Driven Strategy:

Develop and implement data product roadmaps that align with PetSmart's business objectives, leveraging data to unlock new opportunities.
Bridge the Business-Tech Gap:

Collaborate closely with stakeholders across the organization to understand business needs and translate them into actionable data product requirements.
Deliver High-Quality, Scalable Solutions:

Lead the delivery of enterprise-level data products that meet scalability, reliability, and efficiency requirements.
Technical Expertise:

Champion best practices in data product architecture and design, ensuring adherence to industry standards.
Process Optimization:

Establish and implement best practices for software development, data engineering, and machine learning within your team.
Stakeholder Communication:

Clearly communicate project progress, roadblocks, and timelines to stakeholders at all levels, fostering transparency and alignment.
Cross-Functional Integration:

Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of data products with existing systems.
Technology Innovation:

Build and maintain relationships with technology partners to leverage innovative solutions for data product development.
Performance Measurement and Improvement:

Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of data products, using data-driven insights for continuous improvement.
Resource Management:

Partner with external vendors to augment resources as needed and manage the IT budget effectively.
Qualifications:
Proven leadership experience managing teams of engineers and analysts (3-7 years).
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field (master's degree a plus).
7+ years of experience in software development, data engineering, or machine learning with a focus on data products.
Solid understanding of data architecture, data management, and data governance principles.
Experience with Agile methodologies and software development best practices.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
Proven record of accomplishment of delivering high-quality data products on time, within budget, and aligned with business objectives, demonstrating strong financial acumen and project management skills.
Experience working in a large enterprise environment, managing, and delivering multiple complex projects simultaneously.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their data services (Databricks, Snowflake, dbt Labs).
Experience with Enterprise Business Intelligence tools (MicroStrategy, Tableau, Power BI, ThoughtSpot, Looker) for Reporting and Data Visualization.
Experience with Integration Technologies (e.g., TIBCO, MuleSoft, Informatica) for data product development and integration.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional adaptability, composure, initiative, and sensitivity. Utilizes data to make well-informed decisions while remaining calm under pressure and fostering a collaborative environment.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
