Job Summary
Provides strategic technical oversight and leadership for complex DoD ammunition production programs. This role ensures end‑to‑end technical excellence across business capture, production support, ballistic test validation, continuous improvement initiatives, and design and development activities. The Sr. Manager is accountable for delivering compliant, on‑schedule products while resolving technical challenges to maintain safety, quality, and all contractual requirements. In addition, this position delivers advanced technical support for high‑visibility program efforts by developing, applying, and guiding the use of sophisticated engineering theories, methodologies, and research techniques.

Essential Functions
Analyzes, develops, and evaluates systems as well as improving and maintaining current systems or creating brand new projects.
Applies engineering techniques and analyses within the scope of the assignment.
Recommends operational plans with direct impact on results.
Requires communication with senior leadership on matters of strategic importance, i.e., Constructing and presenting status briefings on technical challenges.
Works with third party resources, site leadership and other necessary departments to bring comprehensive solutions for operations, production, or maintenance issues related to local production or test failures.
Required Qualifications
Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 7-8 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Technology or Chemical Engineering.
Discipline/Major: Manufacturing, Business or Engineering preferred
Knowledge, skills & abilities: Leadership skills. Ability to foster teamwork. Oral and written communication skills. Ability to identify and seek needed information/research skills. Technical expertise.
Experience within chemical manufacturing and/or the defense industry highly desired.
Experience in energetic materials field.
Strong engineering skills and understanding of the design and composition of most existing products and engineering/business processes and principles.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
May need to stand for long periods of time.
Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
May be requested to work a different shift.
Travel Requirements
Up to 25% travel likely.
