Job Profile:

Panera is a specialty bakery-cafe concept offering careers as diverse as our breads. Panera Bread is currently looking to hire a highly motivated individual with strong financial, analytical and communication skills to fill the role of Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis. This person will be a key member of Panera's FP&A team and serve as a critical business partner to our Brand & Concept team.

Location: Newton, MA (Hybrid)

Duties & Responsibilities:

Panera is looking for an individual with a strong finance and analytics background to help lead our sales planning and revenue optimization processes. This role will participate in key strategic discussions and provide thought leadership in areas including sales and revenue planning, marketing, strategic pricing and loyalty discount programs. This role will also provide day-to-day finance and analytical support for sales performance.

Accountabilities

Serve as a key finance business partner to our leadership team; perform high impact analyses of business results, identifying trends, variances, and potential opportunities.

  • Drive the brand’s pricing principles. Own the analysis on strategic pricing decisions, including competitive benchmarking, market tier pricing and price increases
  • Plan and forecast revenue and same store sales for annual operating plan, monthly forecasts and weekly expectations
  • Delivery impactful weekly and monthly reporting packages to company leadership leveraging analytical and data visualization tools
  • Autonomously work cross-functionally with peers and be able to share clear findings and results with members of our leadership team
  • Build accurate analytical models using large data sets and assumptions
  • Identify data sources, calculation methodologies, and control processes
  • Adapt quickly to changing organizational and team priorities - be ready to quickly jump into intellectually challenging problems facing the broader organization.

Qualifications (Education & Experience):

  • Top tier academic credentials and performance with an MBA and 5+ years in either a corporate finance or planning role, pricing analytics and strategy role, investment banking or consulting firm, or a bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of experience.
  • Ability to manipulate very large data sets to interpret patters and learning
  • Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms with a functional understanding of Python, SQL or other programming languages
  • Excellent strategic, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with dashboard and data visualization packages such as PowerBI
  • Able to identify change impacts and leverage partners to overcome barriers and roadblocks
  • Personal commitment to excellence and appetite for success
  • Great sense of judgment and the humility to ask for advice
  • An attention to detail, a willingness to roll up your sleeves, and an intense drive to "get it right”
  • Ability to manage complexity and ambiguity

Working Conditions:

  • This position is a hybrid role, preference is to be in the Boston area and able to work in our Newton office as needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing this job, the incumbent is regularly required to stand, sit, talk hear & use hands and fingers to operate keyboards.
