Loft Orbital is seeking a Director of Marketing to build and lead a high-performing marketing function. This role will be pivotal in creating and executing marketing campaigns to drive awareness and visibility to the Loft brand across key markets. This role will oversee marketing processes, analytics, and execution while collaborating closely with investors, founders, leadership, sales, business development, creative, engineering/Product, and cross-functional teams.
You’ll work across our US and European teams to support marketing efforts that reach both commercial and government audiences—translating complex ideas into clear, compelling messages that resonate across markets, time zones, and mission needs. You’ll play a key role in building and evolving our brand as we scale, helping to shape how we show up to customers, partners, and the broader space community.
The ideal candidate is a team player who is comfortable as an individual contributor and coach in a dynamic environment, possesses an eye for details and a strong understanding of the broad variety of responsibility of the Marketing function, and brings a blend of strategic insight, operational expertise, and a passion for space technology.

About this Role:- In partnership with leadership, develop and execute the overall marketing strategy aligned with Loft’s business goals
- Develop, document, and oversee marketing processes, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and annual marketing planning & operating cadence
- Identify and execute initiatives to improve processes, workflows, and strategies while enabling transparency on marketing effectiveness and KPI’s to track on-going campaigns and impact
- Work closely with design and creative teams to evolve and grow the brand and messaging across key distribution channels
- Lead integrated campaigns across web, content, social, events, and field marketing
- Create and execute corporate events strategy for Loft’s business
- Identify and build co-marketing initiatives with partners, customers, and industry stakeholders developing strategic narratives and use case examples
- Support Sales and Business Development to develop sales collateral, buyer personas, battlecards, and competitive positioning
- Partner with creative and design to develop and influence website strategy & content
- Manage Loft’s industry trade association relationships to maximize exposure across these channels
- Manage vendors, agencies, and contractors as needed to support
- Proven ability to build and scale a lean marketing team in a startup setting—starting with a product marketing manager—while establishing the processes, tools, and operating cadence needed to grow a high-impact, cross-functional function from the ground up.
Must Haves:- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field
- 5+ years of hands-on marketing and communications experience, ideally showing growth in scope, ownership, and outcomes over time.
- Proven track record of delivering marketing ROI and process improvement in a high-growth environment.
- Experience in the aerospace or high-tech industry, with knowledge of space systems and market dynamics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- Passion for data, process, and simplicity—alongside the curiosity to challenge legacy approaches and drive change.
Nice to Haves:- Experience in startups —comfortable navigating ambiguity, working cross-functionally, and building from zero in fast-moving environments.
- Familiarity with the procurement and regulatory landscape of the space industry, with an understanding of how it shapes communications, media strategy, and stakeholder engagement—especially in government-facing or dual-use contexts.
- Experience with international marketing strategies and global market expansion.
- Experience with corporate communications and/or crisis communications.
- Passion for space technology and a deep understanding of Loft Orbital's mission and products.

$160,000 - $187,000 a year
State law requires us to tell you the base compensation range for this role, which is $160,000- $187,000 per year. This is determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The salary range for this role is intentionally wide as we evaluate individuals based on their unique experience and abilities to fit our needs.
