Summary

The Senior Manager of Technical Production leads a team of General Session Project Managers and Technical Directors who are responsible for the planning and execution of high-production general sessions for large-scale corporate events. This role provides strategic oversight, operational leadership, and team development to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery across all projects. The Manager is accountable for team performance, client satisfaction, financial outcomes, and operational excellence, while serving as an escalation point for complex production challenges.


 


This position will support our Audio Visual and Event Technology team. It is eligible to work a hybrid schedule, generally requiring work in-office and/or show-site 2-3 days per week. The ideal candidate will be based out of any of the following locations:



  • Dallas, TX

  • Las Vegas, NV

  • Orlando, FL 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Development



  • Lead, coach, and manage a team of General Session Project Managers and Technical Directors, including hiring, performance management, and career development.

  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance environment focused on accountability and continuous improvement.

  • Establish and enforce consistent project management standards, tools, and workflows.


Project Oversight & Delivery



  • Oversee end-to-end delivery of general sessions from concept through execution and closeout.

  • Ensure alignment between client objectives, creative concepts, and operational execution.

  • Provide escalation support and guidance for complex or high-risk projects.


Operational & Cross-Functional Alignment



  • Drive coordination across creative, production, technical, logistics, and operations teams.

  • Partner with show site, labor, and warehouse teams to optimize resource planning and execution.

  • Ensure adherence to company policies, operational processes, and safety standards.


Client & Stakeholder Management



  • Support senior-level client relationships on high-visibility general sessions.

  • Ensure consistent communication, expectation management, and delivery excellence across the team.

  • Provide strategic guidance on feasibility, production tradeoffs, and risk mitigation.


Risk, Quality & Compliance



  • Ensure proactive identification and mitigation of technical, operational, and safety risks.

  • Maintain high standards for production quality, brand alignment, and client satisfaction.

  • Enforce compliance with company, venue, and industry safety requirements.


On-Site Leadership & Continuous Improvement



  • Provide leadership presence on critical shows and support real-time decision-making.

  • Lead post-event reviews and implement process improvements across the team.

Education & Experience

Required



  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, High School Diploma or Equivalent with relevant work experience. 

  • 6+ years of experience in live event or general session production, including team leadership.

  • Strong knowledge of audio, video, lighting, scenic, and staging systems.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects and teams simultaneously.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.


Preferred



  • Experience in large-scale event production or agency environments.

  • Experience with executive-level general sessions and high-visibility events.

  • PMP or equivalent project management certification.

  • Experience supporting hybrid or virtual event production.


Working Environment



  • Hybrid office, remote, and on-site event environments.

  • Fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with peak activity during live events.

  • Frequent collaboration with cross-functional teams, clients, and external partners.

Travel Requirements

Travel 50% to 75%
