Sr Manager/Finance Director, Hair Color Bars

The base salary range for this position is between $165,000 and $185,000. At Madison Reed, we aim to pay competitively. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Sr Manager/Director of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) to lead our finance team at Hair Color Bars. As the leader in this role, you will assume full accountability for overseeing Hair Color Bar's Profit and Loss statement. Your scope will encompass delivering detailed, insightful, and strategic financial insights to propel business expansion and maximize Return on Investment (ROI), alongside overseeing intricate financial processes, month-end closures, precise forecasting, strategic planning, and KPI monitoring. You will be a key partner to the General Manager and Chief Revenue Officer of Hair Color Bars, providing support and guidance to ensure that financial targets are met.

What you will do:

  • Lead and empower the the FP&A team for over 90 Hair Color Bars, championing a culture of excellence in strategic financial planning and analysis
  • Create and refine intricate financial models encompassing revenue, labor, and operational expenditures to enhance decision-making accuracy.
  • Lead strategic planning and budgeting endeavors, encompassing both short-term and long-range perspectives, fostering agile and informed decision-making.
  • Deliver timely and accurate monthly financial reports and analyses to the executive team, facilitating data-driven insights and actions at the highest level of the organization.
  • Ensure strict adherence to accounting standards and internal control protocols, safeguarding the integrity of financial operations.
  • Detect and evaluate financial trends, delivering actionable insights and recommendations to bolster organizational performance.
  • Collaborate closely with the Chief Revenue Officer/General Manager to optimize pricing strategies, amplifying profitability.
  • Collaborate with executive team in crafting compelling business cases for innovative ventures and capital investments, guaranteeing alignment with strategic organizational goals and long-term objectives
  • Navigate intricate financial projects, including the launch of Membership programs, implementation of employee compensation structures, labor efficiency enhancements, and operational expenditure reductions.
  • Design and deploy key performance indicators (KPIs) to systematically track and assess business performance, enabling proactive adjustments.
  • Foster cross-departmental collaboration to harmonize efforts and achieve overarching business objectives seamlessly.

What You will need

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required; MBA preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in FP&A or related finance roles, with at least 5 years in leadership
  • Modeling guru with advanced excel skills; enjoys synthesizing complex data sets, models, and variance analysis. Visualization tools experience such as Power BI/Tableau is required
  • You are self-directed, thrive in ambiguous situations, and love to take charge of complex tasks with minimal direction.
  • You are excited about the opportunity to work in a fast-paced start-up environment, and to be a key partner as we scale the company.
  • Background in four-wall retail business and experience in both early stage and later stage growth companies is a must.
  • You are eager to develop new ways of approaching business challenges independently and proactively.
  • Ability to implement new processes and systems; familiarity with Netsuite, SAP, Hyperion, Looker, TM1, Adaptive Planning, BPC, etc.
  • You have excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
