Job Description - Sr. Manufacturing Engineer

Eaton\u2019s IS AER FED division is currently seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer. This position will be located at our Middlesex, NC facility. Relocation benefits will be provided within the United States only. \n\n \nThe Senior Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the creation, ownership, and improvement of processes throughout the plant. In this role, you will have responsibilities across the plant including the following activities: capital projects, safety improvements, cost reduction / cost out projects, product cost estimating, developing and maintaining production standards and standard work. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will assist in the coordination of the capital spending program, insuring accuracy of BOM and routings within ERP system, and assist in new product launch during and after implementation.\n\n \nAs a subject matter expert \u201cSME\u201d you will facilitate 8D problem solving, investigating and troubleshooting issues, and present conclusions to internal and external customers. Ensure individual and group project objectives are met. Prepare/review documents including cost estimates, capital appropriation requests, project schedules, design specifications, process specifications, and equipment specifications. Prepare and present technical reports and conclusions to leadership team members. Coordinate and manage Change Management (MCO\u2019s) within plant.\n\nThe expected annual salary range for this role is $86000 - $126000 a year. \n\nPlease note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. \n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\n\u2022 Lead efforts to proactively identify opportunities to improve Safety, Quality, Productivity, and reduce Costs, also prioritize safety and develop solutions for open concerns. \n\u2022 Provide day-to-day support for the manufacturing team, including investigating, analyzing and troubleshooting for product design, materials, tooling, equipment, production methods and processes. \n\u2022 Develop or purchase manufacturing equipment, fixtures, and tooling, create and Improve manufacturing documentation, including operator method sheets (work instructions), standard work, and other instruction. \n\u2022 Employ Value Stream Maps to evaluate process current state and plan/execute future state and implement Cost Reduction projects. \n\u2022 Identify and implement new manufacturing methods and process modification recommendations for reduction of waste, cost, enhanced safety, or improved delivery. \n\u2022 Develop cost justification and project plans for new/modified tooling, machinery, or other Capital Projects. \n\u2022 Coordinate implementation of new products into manufacturing. Create, review and approve product and process test reports necessary to gain customer approval of new or modified product designs. \n\u2022 Establish, maintain, and audit Engineering Specifications, Bills of Material, Process Routers, Production Standards, and Process FMEA\u2019s for new and existing products. \n\u2022 Participate with multi-functional product development teams to ensure manufacturability of new designs through the ProLaunch process and identify resource needs for the plant, assist in preparing budgets and major appropriation requests. \n\u2022 Assist in evaluation of potential and existing suppliers and provide support for resolution of supplier quality concerns. \n\u2022 Foster an environment that promotes Eaton\u2019s goals and philosophies and encourage continuous improvement through participation and teamwork. \n\n## Qualifications:\n\nRequired (Basic) Qualifications: \n\u2022 Bachelor\u2019s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution. \n\u2022 Minimum of three (3) years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment. \n\u2022 Minimum of one (1) year engineering experience with electrical components. \n\u2022 Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future. \n\u2022 This position requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158.\n\nPreferred Qualifications: \n\u2022 Bachelor\u2019s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited institution. \n\u2022 Minimum of three (3) years experience in process development. \n\u2022 Experience using PPAP. \n\u2022 Experience leading large CAPEX projects or new product development projects. \n\u2022 Aerospace manufacturing experience.\n\nPosition Success Criteria: \n\u2022 Understanding of change management processes. \n\u2022 Understanding of Lean and Six Sigma Tools. \n\u2022 Proficiency in Product Data Management systems for document control and workflow management. \n\u2022 Understanding of fluid conveyance related products, manufacturing techniques, and material science. \n\u2022 Strong project and time management, organizational, and analytical skills. \n\u2022 Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, from production associates to the leadership team. \n\u2022 Limited travel may be required (\u003c10%).\n\n \n#LI-CB3\n\nAll positions may require participation in video and in-person interviews as part of the hiring process.
