Job Description - Sr. Marketing Manager


Position Summary
The Sr. Marketing Manager leads the proposal development process for a growing design-build firm. This role manages proposals from start to finish, ensuring high-quality, compliant, and compelling submissions. The position requires strong writing, organization, and leadership skills, along with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and mentor junior marketing staff. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the full proposal lifecycle—from kickoff to final submission. 

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external consultants to gather and develop content. 

  • Write and edit technical and marketing content for proposals, presentations, and collateral. 

  • Apply proposal best practices (e.g., Shipley method) to ensure quality and consistency. 

  • Prepare qualifications packages, SF330s, design-build proposals, and interview materials. 

  • Maintain and update marketing content, including resumes, project descriptions, and templates. 

  • Track proposal deadlines, maintain a proposal database, and manage task assignments. 

  • Support marketing initiatives such as award submissions, events, and branded materials. 

  • Assist with client development and pursuit strategies. 

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Business, or related field. 

  • Experience: 7+ years in proposal management within the A/E/C industry. 

  • Federal Proposal Experience: Required (SF330, design-build, construction formats).  

  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance. 

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills. 

  • Proven success managing complex proposals under tight deadlines. 

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills. 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). 

  • Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop). 

  • Ability to lead teams, mentor staff, and present to clients and leadership.
