Job Description - Sr Mechanical Engineer, Metrologist

Summary

This Sr Mechanical Engineer role is responsible for providing engineering support of highly technical and advanced manufacturing processes; may require specialized qualifications, knowledge, and skill. Other expectations include project management, designing, developing, and evaluating quality control functions on highly complex engineering projects and offering innovative solutions to technical problems by applying mathematical, physical science, and advanced engineering technologies.  


Duties and Responsibilities


  • Recognized authority within area of expertise with wide versatility of experience and capability.  

  • Works under general administrative direction occasionally with some latitude for unreviewed actions or decisions. 

  • Performs project planning and manages project resources, including multiple individuals and disciplines, to achieve quality, delivery, and cost objectives. 

  • Conducts research and development while writing technical reports for experiments to resolve complex engineering and quality problems involving highly technical and scientific methods. 

  • Mentors lower-level engineers establishing operating procedures on new products and components. 

  • Utilizes data to define and recommend new designs, design changes, and alternate designs of instruments, and/or test equipment, to assure product quality and resolve processing, inspection, and design problems. 

  • Evaluates and implements innovations and technological advances that improve quality, reduce flowtime, improve productivity, and enhance operational surety. 

  • Interacts with design agency and/or supplier counterparts to resolve moderate to complex design, development, production, and acceptance issues. 


You Must Have

 



  • Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited program in Engineering or Physics 

  • 6+ years of relevant experience in engineering, analytical, or related technical activities. 

  • United States Citizenship 

  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job 

  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time. 

  • Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business.
