The Mobile Scan Inspector position leads inspection and testing services both on and off well locations. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production and/or services are efficient and safe as possible.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Trains new Mobile Inspector and Inspector Assistant staff
Oversees the daily workflow of the on-site mobile crew and coordinates workover rig crew (2-3 persons) during inspection process
Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations of Mobile Assistant
Reviews and approves time card of Mobile Assistant
Essential Functions

Responsible for managing customer satisfaction, safety of crew and Quality Assurance to ensure ongoing revenue opportunities and reduce financial liabilities resulting from incorrect classification of inspected material.
Works from Mobile Office (Scan Van or Similar) to analyze and assess tubing condition utilizing EMI Inspection Tool, Visual Inspection Method and Ultrasonic Thickness Inspection.
Performs and supervises Rig Floor Electromagnetic Inspection (EMI) as tubing is pulled from the well during workover.
Makes independent determination of material condition in accordance with API or Customer standards based on EMI Inspection Tool readings. Classification is done on behalf of RTS and warrants results to RTS’ customers.
Directs and assists with initial set up of EMI equipment upon arrival to Customer Well-site location.
Directs movement of tubing into place for inspection. Ensures compliance with safe procedures for laydown and/or movement of tubing weighing approximately 200 lbs.
Responsible for maintaining a clean job site: directing assistant and ensuring orderly storage of tools and equipment in order to secure the job site each day to eliminate potential hazards.
Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed while communicating with the Scan Manager and/or Safety Manager.
Manage and oversee the required before-, during- and after-operation equipment maintenance and provide required reports.
Must wear FRC uniforms on well location.
Must be able to pass J1 and J2 eye exams.

Training & Certification:
Inspectors will undergo rigorous on-the-job technical training provided by RTS. The duration of such training is no less than 3 months and can take up to 6 months depending on competency and experience. A minimum of 200 hours of on-the-job Inspection training is required. Training may be reduced based on satisfactory completion of similar training at a previous Employer (subject to acceptance by RTS). On-the-job training will be supplemented by in-classroom Technical and Theoretical training in the competencies of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Methods in accordance with the American Society of Non Destructive Testers (ASNT). Upon successful completion of an Inspector will be Certified by RTS as a Level 1 or Level 2 inspector in accordance with ASNT SNT TC-1A.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes, particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, heat, cold, rain, wind and a variety of other extreme conditions. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The position may require the Employee to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee may lift, push, pull or carry objects; and may use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Work Schedule
This is a full-time exempt position. Weekends and/or holidays will be scheduled. Employee must be available for emergency jobs when the need arises.
Travel
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although out-of-area and overnight travel is expected.
Education and Experience
Basic mechanical and oil industry experience.
Safeland or PEC certifications preferred.
Outlook, Microsoft, Excel knowledge is preferred.
ASNT Level 1 or Level 2 Certification is required, either through previous employer or RTS provided training program.
