Summary

Leads and coordinates activities within the organizational Supply Chain. Responsible for organizing and executing production and supply chain strategies in conjunction with support organizations to deliver quality products and services to meet customer requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities


  • Initiates and implements supply chain strategies that best deliver product and services to customer requirements.

  • Interfaces and collaborates with other organizations to formulate common objectives and implementation of strategies to assure achievement of quality, cost and schedule objectives. Responsible for alignment of objectives and performance levels for business unit with site objectives.

  • Promotes continuous improvement through recommendations of new approaches, policies and procedures to improve the overall operation of the supply chain. Utilizes best-practice and innovative processes to define, coordinate, and implement procedural changes to assure cost-effective operations.

  • Maintains effective relationships with the DOE, NNSA and regulatory agencies. 

  • Develops and implements staffing plans and budget proposals consistent with anticipated workloads.

  • Directly supervises employees and performs other managerial responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.   Includes employees and multiple job sites (KCNSC, NMO).

  • Directs and promotes full and complete compliance with DOE, federal, state and local regulatory requirements through the establishment of policy, programs and systems. Includes overseeing compliance with prime contract executive orders, NNSA approved procedures, DEAR/FAR and appropriate supply chain management principles.

You Must Have


  • 9 or more years of experience

  • 2 years of experience directly managing a team

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or other related field

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

  • Ability to work on-site as directed by management and as determined by the needs of the business

  • United States Citizenship

  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job

  • Ability to obtain and maintain, if required for position, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations)

National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Requirements for MedPEDs
