Job Description: This Sr. Operator position includes applying adhesive, micro-soldering, cutting tube lengths, circuit board connections, mechanical assembly using fasteners, threading components through tubes, packaging, and inspections in medical device manufacturing environment.
Safety
· Adheres to safety and environmental procedures. Wears appropriate PPE. Knows emergency procedures. Reports unsafe conditions and proposes & implements safety improvements to supervisor as well as coaching others on good safety practices.
Quality
· Follows procedures and instructions to meet product quality requirements. Follows Good Documentation Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices
· Escalates problems with quality, processes, equipment, or materials to the Production Lead or Supervisor. Identifies opportunities for improvement and assists with implementation
· Complete line clearance, batch records, training records, and other documentation as required.
· Performs and may oversee routine quality in-process inspections
Delivery & Cost
· Performs duties related to applying adhesive, cutting tube lengths, circuit board connections, mechanical assembly using fasteners, threading components through tubes, packaging, and inspections of parts in accordance with standard operating procedure as regulated by quality, environmental and safety agencies.
· Completes complex tasks independently.
· Recognizes malfunctioning machinery/ equipment. Requests assistance from Lead, Supervisor or Technician. Can perform basic troubleshooting
· Maintain a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions
· Works with the production team to ensure daily and weekly production schedules are met.
· Learns and participates in Lean Manufacturing activities including sharing improvement ideas with leadership and implementing ideas
· Establish good working relationships with all levels of operations.
· Cross-train co-workers as required and certify others on processes.
· May perform duties as a back up Line Lead
· Trained and or certified on at least 75% of area assignments.
· Physically locate and maintain designated inventory within the production and other general areas as necessary to improve inventory accuracy and minimize waste.
· Participate in area improvement projects when assigned by area supervisor or designee as applicable.
· Maintain excellent attendance and be ready to pitch in with extra hours when necessary to meet the company's needs.
· Able to communicate effectively with work group
· Comply with policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements of the Biomerics Quality System and Safety procedures.
· Other duties as assigned by the Lead and Production Supervisor or designee.
Job Qualifications:?
High school diploma or equivalent
· Ability to read, write, and communicate in English to understand and interpret instructions, documentation and drawings.
The ability to operate or set up testing software is preferred but not required.
· Manufacturing experience preferred.
· Strong attention to detail.
· Ability to work safely around chemicals and equipment.
· Stamina to stand and walk within the facility for prolonged periods.
· Aptitude to work in a fast-paced environment
· Ability to read numerous measurement devices for inspection of parts (i.e.; calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, scales, etc.…)
· Ability to do repetitive work, requiring strong dexterity and hand/eye coordination.
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. using proper lifting techniques is required
· Heightened safety awareness is essential
· Capable of multitasking and constantly being on the move throughout the workday.
· Ability to pass background screen.
· Overtime may be required depending on company needs.
