This role will function as a central project manager for regulatory inquiries, helping coordinate and execute responses to formal and informal requests from regulators, including subpoenas, civil investigative demands (CIDs), and supervisory inquiries. The ideal candidate will excel at managing complex, cross-functional projects, partnering closely with attorneys, outside counsel, and stakeholders across the company to locate, gather, analyze, and synthesize data, documents, and other information responsive to regulatory requests. This role requires strong judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to operate effectively across a wide range of internal teams in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.\n\nJob Description:\n\nEssential Responsibilities: \n\n * Lead the preparation and management of complex cases, including high-volume litigation and corporate transactions.\n * Provide strategic input during case planning, research, and pre-trial preparations.\n * Draft, review, and manage critical legal documents with minimal legal counsel oversight.\n * Oversee and coordinate discovery processes, including document production and e-discovery management.\n * Train, mentor, and review work of junior paralegals and support staff.\n * Maintain direct client relationships, managing expectations and ensuring superior service quality.\n\n\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\n\n * 7 years of relevant work experience\n * Bachelors\u2019 degree or paralegal certificate (ABA approved) is required.\n\n\n\nAdditional Responsibilities \u0026 Preferred Qualifications:\n\nRegulatory Response Project Management\n\n\u2022 Serve as a central coordinator for responses to regulatory inquiries, including subpoenas, civil investigative demands (CIDs), exams, and informal requests\n\n\u2022 Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and trackers to ensure timely and complete responses\n\n\u2022 Coordinate workflows across legal, outside counsel, and internal stakeholders to drive efficient execution\n\n\u2022 Monitor progress, identify risks or bottlenecks, and escalate issues as appropriate\n\nInformation \u0026 Document Collection\n\n\u2022 Partner with attorneys and business teams to identify relevant sources of data, documents, and information\n\n\u2022 Coordinate the collection of materials from across the company, including Risk, Compliance, Payments, Product, Customer Support, Regulatory Relations, and other functions\n\n\u2022 Work with internal teams to understand systems, data sources, and recordkeeping practices\n\n\u2022 Ensure defensible, consistent, and well-documented collection processes\n\nData Organization \u0026 Analysis\n\n\u2022 Organize and manage large volumes of documents and data in collaboration with outside counsel and eDiscovery vendors\n\n\u2022 Perform initial review, categorization, and summarization of materials to support legal analysis\n\n\u2022 Prepare chronologies, summaries, and issue-specific analyses for attorney review\n\n\u2022 Help identify gaps, inconsistencies, or follow-up questions in collected materials\n\nCross-Functional Collaboration\n\n\u2022 Build strong working relationships across a wide range of PayPal teams, including:\n\nRisk and Compliance; Payments and product teams; Engineering, data, and analytics teams; customer support / customer experience teams; and licensing and regulatory relations teams\n\n\u2022 Serve as a key point of contact for information requests, helping translate legal requirements into actionable requests for business partners\n\nProcess Improvement \u0026 Knowledge Management\n\n\u2022 Help develop and refine repeatable processes for responding to regulatory inquiries\n\n\u2022 Maintain trackers, templates, and documentation to improve efficiency and consistency\n\n\u2022 Identify opportunities to streamline data collection and improve coordination across teams\n\n\u2022 Support development of internal playbooks and best practices\n\nOutside Counsel Coordination\n\n\u2022 Work closely with outside counsel on document collection, review, and production workflows\n\n\u2022 Track deliverables, deadlines, and requests from external partners\n\n\u2022 Help ensure alignment between internal teams and outside counsel strategies\n\nSubsidiary:\n\nPayPal\n\nTravel Percent:\n\n0\n\n-\n\nThe base pay for this role will depend on where you work and the relevant experience and expertise you bring.
