This role requires deep expertise in place\u2011and\u2011route, timing closure, power integrity, and physical verification, along with the ability to drive block\u2011 or chip-level closure independently while collaborating across design, verification, and technology teams.\n\nResponsibilities \n\n * Own full physical design flow from netlist handoff through GDSII, including floorplanning, placement, clock tree synthesis (CTS), routing, and ECO closure.\n\n\n * Drive timing closure (setup/hold) across all modes and corners using industry\u2011standard STA methodologies.\n * Perform power analysis and optimization, including IR drop, EM, dynamic/static power, and low\u2011power intent implementation (UPF/CPF).\n * Develop, refine, and apply robust physical design methodologies for advanced technology nodes.\n * Contribute to automation, scripts, and flow improvements to enhance productivity and quality.\n * Work closely with RTL, logic design, DFT, CAD, and technology teams to resolve design and implementation challenges.\n * Support post-silicon debug and correlation when required.\n\n\n\nMinimum Qualifications\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s or Master\u2019s degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.\n * Strong understanding of digital circuit design, CMOS fundamentals, and timing concepts.\n * Floorplanning, P\u0026R, CTS, and timing closure\n * STA, DRC/LVS, and power integrity analysis\n * Experience with advanced technology nodes and multi-corner, multi-mode design methodologies.\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\n * Experience at 7nm or below technology nodes.\n * Familiarity with low-power design techniques and methodologies.\n * Experience leading block-level or chip-level physical design ownership.\n * Scripting skills (Tcl, Python, or similar) for flow automation and optimization.\n\n\n\nJob Profile(s):\n\nSemiconductor Design Engineer 3\n\nRelocation Level: TBD\n\nBefore Getting Started \nPlease review Micron\u2019s Internal Job Application Policy on your regional PeopleNow Career Opportunities page before searching and applying for jobs.
