Job Description - Sr. Planner

Eaton\u2019s AER FED Fluid Electrical Distribution division is currently seeking a Sr. Planner. This position will be located at our Torrance, CA facility. \n\n \nThe Sr. Planner is responsible for the materials planning, scheduling and ordering activities associated with the delivery of specific customer products. In this role, you will plan and coordinate receipt and inventory of material to ensure on-time delivery of customer orders while maintaining assigned inventory levels. The Sr. Planner is expected to utilize various business systems, a variety of reports and other related tools to ensure timely and economical completion of customer requirements.\n\nThe expected annual salary range for this role is $99000 - $145000 a year. \n\nPlease note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. \n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\n\u2022 Analyze current and future demand requirements with manufacturing capabilities/capacities to ensure completion for meeting customer requirements. \n\u2022 Initiate required system transactions to allocate, purchase, internally manufacture or reschedule material as required. \n\u2022 Expedite material, where required to meet shortfall between current plan and customer order requirements including adjustments as a result of scrap, damage or loss of parts. \n\u2022 Analyze data, including material requirements planning information and prepare reports as needed to facilitate and recommend actions to ensure optimal plan execution. \n\u2022 Review planning parameters and BOMs in order execution systems (SAP) to ensure proper order generation and MRP system accuracy. \n\u2022 Calculate, report out, and mitigate monthly key customer risk based on component shortages. \n\u2022 Review respective production line capacity and fill/smooth out based constraints, discuss and report out on daily meetings with production group as well as during quoting process. \n\u2022 Analyze and manage inventory levels in relation to customer requirements to meet profit and inventory targets and goals. \n\u2022 Support cost reduction projects and improvement initiatives to achieve overall business objectives. \n\u2022 Coordinate daily interactions with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Customer Service groups to maintain plant-wide production scheduling information and ensure adherence to plan and ultimately meet or exceed OTD and Past Due goal. \n\u2022 Track and record OTD misses and adjustments with reasons for lateness. \n\u2022 On time placement and expediting of process orders. \n\u2022 Determine adjustments to inventory as a result of scrap, damage or loss of parts. \n\u2022 Support lean manufacturing initiatives through kitting and value stream mapping activities as required. \n\u2022 Manage supply chain/ planning Engineering Change Request/ Engineering Change Order (ECR/ECO) deployment actions in MRP System (SAP). \n\u2022 Support Material Management Assessment (MMA) and drive completion of resulting Opportunities for Improvements with cross-functional team. \n\n## Qualifications:\n\nRequired (Basic) Qualifications: \n\u2022 Bachelor\u0027s degree from an accredited institution. \n\u2022 Minimum of three (3) years experience in scheduling, planning, material management or similar role in a manufacturing environment. \n\u2022 Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future. \n\u2022 This position requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158. \n\u2022 No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Torrance, CA will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.\n\nPreferred Qualifications: \n\u2022 Experience configuring and maintaining planning parameters in SAP Production environment. \n\u2022 APICS or ISM Certification.\n\n \nSkills: \n\u2022 Strong understanding of MRP mechanics and order generation process logic. \n\u2022 Understanding of Supply Chain Management operational concepts surrounding production planning, inventory control, purchasing, logistics, stockroom operations, and shipping/receiving. \n\u2022 Ability to speak to all levels of operation (shop floor production, VSMs, Leads, Leadership, etc.). \n\u2022 Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Process Variation Reduction (Six Sigma) concepts and tool sets as they relate to materials management. \n\u2022 Knowledge of ERP / MRP, Accounting / Finance principles and spreadsheet software. \n\u2022 May be required to work beyond normal office hours, occasionally to meet schedule commitments. \n\n#LI-CB3\n\nAll positions may require participation in video and in-person interviews as part of the hiring process.
