Sr. Plumbing & Fire Protection Engineer

As a Sr. Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineer you will be responsible for delivering high-quality design, analysis, and technical support for multi-disciplinary engineering projects. This role includes working closely with clients and project teams to develop plumbing and fire protection systems that meet project goals, code requirements, and client expectations.

Responsibilities:

• Design plumbing and fire protection systems for a diverse range of clients
• Perform code reviews and ensure compliance with state specific plumbing and fire protection standards.
• Provide subject matter expertise on large, multi-discipline design projects, including oversight and coordination of plumbing systems, process piping, and fire protection design.
• Complete fire protection hydraulic calculations using industry-standard software.
• Engage with clients to present technical analyses and design alternatives.
• Write proposals to secure new projects.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
• Identify opportunities for new business and client growth.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (required).


• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with a professional Architecture/Engineering (A/E) services firm.


• Certified in Plumbing Design (CPD) by the American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE).


• New York State Professional Engineer (PE) license.


• Experience with AutoCAD (Required) and Revit (Preferred).


• Strong technical writing and communication abilities.


• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.


• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure.


• Additional cross discipline knowledge / experience with HVAC (Optional).
