Sr Pricing Analyst

Marathon Cheese is currently conducting an internal/external search for a Sr. Pricing Analyst to work at our Marathon City, WI corporate office.

General Summary:

The Sr. Pricing Analyst will play an integral role in the pricing process, participating in RFQs, quoting and providing customer pricing and market communications.  Incumbent will partner cross functionally to provide margin and pricing reporting, analysis and forecasting, as well as collaborate on process improvement / cost savings initiatives.  This role will support Business Development with analytics and reporting, including market and competitive analysis.  This position reports to the Pricing Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Participate in all requests for quotation and pricing exercises, ensuring cost and margin targets are achieved while providing a compelling customer value proposition.

• As part of the pricing process, research and identify market and competitive data that will contribute to pricing intelligence and drive business decisions.

• Generate and analyze margin and pricing insights.  Present key findings to internal stakeholders on a monthly basis to help drive improvements and strategy refinement.


• Participate in periodic customer portfolio reviews and assessments.


• Collaborate on the quarterly forecast and annual review processes, providing concise insightful summaries, reports and graphics for the Executive team.


• Contribute to the design, development and implementation of new pricing systems, processes and reports.

• Perform financial analysis to support Business Development and Operations, and provide ongoing KPIs.


• Contribute to cross functional projects focused on process/system improvements, increased efficiencies and driving out waste to improve business profitability.


• Partner with other functions to ensure accuracy and control of SAP master data: Customer records, Pricing Conditions, Pricing Strategy, Routings, Invoices, accruals and postings


• Prepare pricing related ad hoc reporting and analysis as requested, and assist with special projects.


• Provide top tier customer support, reporting and communication.


• Support and back-up other cost accounting & pricing functions as needed.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or Marketing is required


• 5+ years of pricing experience


• 5+ years of experience with P&L and margin/price decision making

• Capable of collecting, structuring and interpreting data to drive concise actionable insights.


• Skilled in process development, execution and continuous improvement.


• Previous experience within the cheese/dairy industry or a CPG company is preferred.

• Strong computer skills: MS Office Suite, advanced level Excel.


• Strong business acumen, especially professional interpersonal and communication skills.


• Must be able to work in a fast-paced and confidential environment.


• Robust analytical skills with the ability to provide actionable data.


• Motivated team player capable of working independently.


• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.


• Experience with SAP or other major ERP system is a plus.
