Our employees are not only part of history, they\u0027re making history.\n\nNorthrop Grumman\u2019s Space Sector is seeking a Sr. Principal Energetics Manufacturing Engineer \u2013 Level 4 to join our team in Promontory, UT. \n\nThis is a Tool Quality Engineering position at the Promontory facility. The Tool Quality Engineer is responsible on developing, establishing and maintaining Mission Assurance policies and procedures, processes and controls thereby ensuring both performance and quality of manufactured products conform to established company, international (AS9100), and governmental requirements, as well as lasting customer satisfaction.\n\nThis position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.\n\nThis role may require up 25% travel.\n\nIn this job, you will:\n\n * Conduct source inspections at vendor sites ensuring quality and technical standards are met before authorizing shipment.\n\n * Understand the tool design intent, failure modes, requirements and specifications of the product as well as the manufacturing processes, process controls, statistics, SPC, and quality inspections.\n\n * Provide quality guidance in Tooling design reviews to ensure quality requirements and policies are being captured in the design phase\n\n * Author initial inspection plans for new tooling and periodic/recycle inspection plans\n\n * Essure compliance and will serve as liaison between the S\u0026MA organization and various other organizations including some government agencies. \n\n * Work directly with operating entities to ensure that inspections, statistical process control analyses, and audits are conducted on a continuing basis as specified to enforce requirements, meet specifications, and improve processing.\n\n * Other duties as assigned\n\n\n\n\nBasic Qualifications for Level 4:\n\n * STEM Bachelor\u2019s degree with 8 years of relevant experience \u2013 OR \u2013 STEM Master\u2019s degree with 6 years of relevant experience \u2013 OR \u2013 PhD with 4 year of relevant experience. \n\n\n\n * No clearance required to start\n\n\n\n * Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD\u0026T) knowledge and experience.\n\n * Experience with internal and external (Government, vendors, etc.) customers.\n\n * Experience with manufacturing processes.\n\n * Experience with machining and/or dimensional inspection.\n\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications: \n\n * Proven technical aptitude and ability to problem solve complex technical issues\n\n * Proven ability to multi-task (i.e. manage several projects at one time) and prioritize workload\n\n * Excellent Communication Skills (both written and verbal)\n\n\n\n\nCurious about all the exciting developments with the Northrop Grumman Space Sector? Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
