Our employees are not only part of history, they\u0027re making history.\n\nNorthrop Grumman is seeking a Sr. Principal Process Engineer to join our team in Rocket Center, WV. This role designs and plans layout for such processes as hardening, washing, laminating, etching, engraving, polishing, painting, plating, and other material-processing operations. Plans sequence of operations and specifies procedures for cutting, shaping, and otherwise preparing basic material, exercising judgment in compromising between conflicting requirements, economic evaluation of methods, and operator effectiveness and comfort. Conducts tests and measurements throughout stages of production to determine control over such variables as temperature, density, specific gravity, pressure, and viscosity. Establishes and submits processing requirements to be met in designing and acquiring processing equipment.\n\nThis position is located onsite site at our ABL facility in Rocket Center, WV. There is no opportunity for remote work.\n\nJob Responsibilities\n\n * Develop manufacturing processes, work instructions and production layouts required to fabricate the product.\n * Identify process improvements, capture feedback from Operations and incorporate changes into the manufacturing process.\n * Respond to design and specification changes by capturing details into the manufacturing process.\n * Respond to technical production issues associated with the product being fabricated.\n * Work with maintenance staff to troubleshoot and repair production specific equipment.\n * Generate specifications for procurement of new equipment.\n * Assist in establishing safety requirements for facilities and equipment.\n * Work in a multifunctional team to solve production related issues.\n * Work with Quality Engineering to quickly and efficiently resolve MRB items. \n * Establish Key Characteristics for manufacturing/processing and ensure systems are in place to monitor and control them.\n * Analyze processes and equipment for process capabilities and downtime.\n * Analyze yield and scrap rate data to aid in improving processes.\n * Determine root cause and corrective actions for discrepancies.\n * Generate and maintain Statistical Process Control programs for production products.\n * Work as part of an Integrated Product Team to support both internal and external customers.\n\n\n\nBasic Qualifications:\n\n * Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent STEM degree plus 8 years of total relevant experience; or Master\u2019s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent STEM degree plus 6 years of relevant experience.\n * Knowledge of mechanical manufacturing and production processes.\n * Ability to interpret 2D drawings.\n * U.S. citizenship.\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Experience working in a production or manufacturing environment.\n * Knowledge of composites fabrication processing including wet filament winding, hand layup, bonding, vacuum bagging and autoclave curing.\n * Experience generating written work instructions for production operations.\n * Familiarity with preparation and analysis of statistical data to make processing decision.\n * Knowledge of basic mechanical systems and tools and hands on experience.\n\n\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $111,700.00 - $167,500.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.\n\nThe application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
