Job Description - Sr. Process Technician Medical Dept. - 12HR Day Shift

Description

Position Focus: 

Monitor the input and output variables of the process, including advanced product inspection, optimizing product and process quality consistent with PMC Total Quality systems, procedures and customer requirements. 

Critical Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership and Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship      to Process Technicians, fostering a culture of continuous learning and      improvement. Function as a key member of the Shift Technical Team,      providing expert support for processing and quality needs.
  • Advanced Process Optimization: Monitor and analyze input/output variables,      implementing advanced product inspection and process optimization      strategies to maximize product and process quality.
  • Expert Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Lead troubleshooting efforts, identify      machine deficiencies, and product non-conformities, and implement      effective corrective actions
  • Tooling and Equipment Mastery: Set and start molds to PMC standards, and      ensure optimal readiness of all production equipment.
  • Process Control and Documentation: Maintain standardized process sheets and      systems for advanced process control. 
  • Continuous Improvement and Innovation: Actively participate in Continuous      Improvement and Cost Reduction Programs.
  • Regulatory Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with all regulatory      standards, actively follow and implement safety rules, and maintain a      clean and safe working environment.
  • Inventory Management: Identify needed spare parts and supplies, ensuring minimal      downtime and efficient operations.
  • Confidentiality and Proprietary Information: Actively follow and support the Company’s      confidentiality obligations and maintain the protection of the Company’s      proprietary information.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform additional duties as necessary that      contribute to the overall efficiency of the company.

Requirements

Candidate Requirements:

  •   Extensive Plastic Processing Expertise: Deep understanding of plastic processing, material performance, and advanced molding techniques.

o Understands the differences between Decoupled 2, & 3 processes and can demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot within each respective processing window.

o Demonstrated ability to effectively troubleshoot complex technical issues and implement sustainable solutions.

o Experience with some or all of the following resins ABS, PE, PP, POM, PEEK, PSU, PPSU, PBT, TPU, TPV, PBT, Nylon (glass filled)

  • Leadership and Mentorship Abilities: Ability to provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior technicians.

o Has previous experience working as a mentor and/or trainer of junior technicians.

  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to regularly lift up to 55 pounds, overhead.
  • Excellent Communication and Mechanical Aptitude: Strong communication skills and a demonstrated aptitude for mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Teamwork and Work Ethic: Willingness to work overtime, excel in a team environment, and demonstrate strong work ethics.
  • Continuous Learning: Desire to continually advance personal knowledge and skills in advanced plastic processing technologies.
  • Intermediate Technical Writing Skills 

o Able to communicate in a clear and concise manner.

o Experience with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams

  • General Tooling

o Able to identify all mold components

o Familiar with the differences between Valve gated, Hot runner, and Cold runner tooling.

  • General Secondary Equipment Knowledge

o High Temperature Thermolators 

o Hot runner Controllers

o Roboshot, Engel, Sodick, Nissei, Sumitomo

o Resin Dryers

o Conveyors

o End of arm Tooling

o Vision Systems

Robotics Experience: 

  • Proven experience programming and maintaining industrial robotic systems.

o Sepro, Harmo, Yushin, Epson, OB7

• Familiarity with robotic control systems and programming languages.

o PLC, C+, C++

• Ability to troubleshoot and repair robotic systems.

Valuable Additions:

  • Advanced Technical Training: Satisfactory completion of advanced technical training and certifications.

o Associates or Batchelor degree (or equivalent) in a STEM field

  • Forklift Certification: Ability to obtain and maintain a forklift license.
  • Bilingual (Spanish, English), preferred, but not mandatory 
  • Able to convert between metric and standard systems. 
  • Understands 5s
  • Experience with RJG Pressure Transducers
  • Understands how to read an electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic schematic.
  • Understands and can explain the basics of the following

o GDP (Good Documentation Practices)

o GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)

o GD&T (General Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
