Oil States is currently looking for qualified candidates for the position of Sr. Project Engineer in Houma, Louisiana.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Conducts analytical studies on engineering proposals to develop design for products by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Interpret client specifications and apply them to the project / equipment design.


• Understand regulatory requirements and apply them to the project / equipment design.


• Responsible for creating and maintaining engineering document release schedule.


• Responsible for collaborating closely with customer and project manager on project progress.


• Prepares or directs preparation of product or system layout, detailed drawings, and schematics.


• Plans and develops test procedures, installation procedures, and acceptance criteria.


• Analyzes test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.


• Able to identify, suggest, and implement design modifications as required.


• Perform engineering calculations that support design modifications or new design equipment.


• Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering and design tasks.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Provide technical support to customers.


• Provide technical assistance to other departments within the company.


• Perform peer review checks of other engineering calculations.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: 

• BS Engineering


• Minimum of 5 years experience in industry application


• Understanding of steel structure fabrication and welding processes


• Understanding of the machining process


• Understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems and can interpret schematics.


• Understanding of machine design components


• Familiarity with common structural steel metallurgy


• Functional in MathCad (or other math software), Excel, FEA software (ANSYS), and 3D software.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

• Prolonged sitting


• Moderate bending


• Lifting up to 10 pounds frequently and 20 pounds occasionally
