Earthjustice Action is a separate 501(c)(4) social welfare organization founded to defend and strengthen bedrock environmental laws and ensure they remain intact and enforceable. Founded in 2017, Earthjustice Action unleashes the power of the people and ensures that elected officials listen to those who matter most: their constituents.
In collaboration with Earthjustice’s Lands, Wildlife, and Oceans and Tribal Partnerships programs, the Research and Policy Analyst supports Earthjustice and, at times, Earthjustice Action’s programmatic focuses on federal public land and water management, fossil fuel and mineral extraction, and Federal Indian Law and policies impacted by these issues. This role specifically focuses on policy analysis pertaining to legislation, partner advocacy and agency dockets. The Research and Policy Analyst develops research and analysis, coordinates policy advocacy efforts among Earthjustice and Earthjustice Action teams, drafts technical documents and develops and nurtures partnerships that support advocacy with decision makers.
This position sits within the Policy & Legislation program and reports to the Legislative Director, Lands, Wildlife, and Oceans. This role is expected to work a full-time (37.5 hours/week) schedule and may work hybrid from the DC office with a minimum of two days a week in the office.
This is a non-supervisory position.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

Salaries at Earthjustice are determined by working location and are commensurate with the experience required.
The annual salary for candidates based in Washington, D.C.: $113,000 - $125,600
