Sr. Solutions Engineer - Join a Leading Company

Job Title: Sr. Solutions Engineer
Work Location: Remote (CST and EST time zones preferred)
Duration: 6 month contract with option to extend
Education/Experience Required: B.A. in Computer Science or related field (or comparable experience).

Job Description:

As a leader in our Information technology team, the Sr. Solutions Engineer will also recommend architectural standards, mentor developers and review the technical implementation of technology projects to ensure that the finished products integrate effectively with existing systems, and meet functional and non-functional requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Select or design technology solutions that align with the company's enterprise architecture vision and technology strategy.
• Clearly document current and future state architectures, visually depicting how the company's information systems function and interact with each other and third party systems.
• Partner with IT and business leadership to determine the roadmap to get from current to future state architectures.
• Serve as technical team lead on our agile development team, ensuring clear communication and adherence to the company's SDLC and other procedures.
• Define patterns, reference architectures and standards to guide the application development team in building technology solutions.
• Define plans and roadmaps for the use of technology platforms from inception through retirement.
• Provide working examples of new design patterns to use as templates for developers.
• Review solution designs and implementations to ensure conformity with the desired architecture, secure coding standards and best practices.
• Leverage our SDLC and other procedures to deliver technology solutions that conform to the firm's architectural direction.
• Review and approve SDLC artifacts and deployment documents ahead of submission of Change tickets.
• Ensure knowledge transfer to IT Operations team for any new solutions.
• Mentor and ensure architecture knowledge transfer to developers, architects and IT Operations team members.

Skills & Qualifications:

• B.A. in Computer Science or related field (or comparable experience).
• 10+ years experience developing and architecting solutions leveraging C#, .Net frameworks and languages, Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Azure DevOps, various data warehousing and business intelligence software, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks and other tools and technologies.
• Experience defining architectures that cover functional and non-functional quality requirements, rightsizing the solution for the appropriate levels of availability, resilience to disasters, scalability, performance and maintainability.
• Familiarity with conventions such as UML and C4 for diagramming technology architectures.
• Experience in all aspects of testing, and tuning application code to perform within desired service levels.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to tailor the message to a diverse audience composed of executives, technology experts, and end users of various technical skill levels.
• Strong knowledge of secure coding practices, and an ability to review static code scanning results and prioritize efforts to remediate detected vulnerabilities.
• Experience architecting solutions for high availability and speedy recovery from disasters.
• Experience operating within a financial industry risk and control framework.
