Sr. Sustainability Consultant

At Personalis, we are transforming the active management of cancer through breakthrough personalized testing. We aim to drive a new paradigm for cancer management, guiding care from biopsy through the life of the patient. Our highly sensitive assays combine tumor-and-normal profiling with proprietary algorithms to deliver advanced insights even as cancer evolves over time. Our products are designed to detect minimal residual disease (MRD) and recurrence at the earliest timepoints, enable selection of targeted therapies based on ultra-comprehensive genomic profiling, and enhance biomarker strategy for drug development. Personalis is based in Fremont, California.

Duration: 6 months with potential for extension

Responsibilities:

• Climate Strategy & Planning: Develop and execute a comprehensive climate strategy, including setting and submitting science-based targets (SBTi) and identifying decarbonization pathways.


• GHG Emissions Management: Conduct and maintain a company-wide GHG inventory (Scopes 1, 2, and 3) and create systems for ongoing tracking, reporting, and dashboarding.


• ESG Reporting: Lead the annual CDP Climate Change disclosure process, ensuring accuracy and identifying opportunities for score improvement.


• Policy & Program Development: Design internal sustainability policies, supplier engagement programs, and employee initiatives tailored to our biotech operations.


• Stakeholder Communication: Prepare and deliver presentations for internal and external stakeholders, including board members and investors, on sustainability performance and strategy.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in pharmaceutical, medical device, diagnostics corporate sustainability, climate strategy, or ESG consulting.


• Demonstrated experience with SBTi and CDP (preferably with companies in life sciences, biotech, or manufacturing).


• Deep knowledge of GHG accounting methodologies and sustainability reporting frameworks (GHG Protocol, TCFD, CDP, SBTi).


• Strong facilitation and communication skills for working with cross-functional teams.


• Familiarity with biotech operations, lab sustainability, or environmental compliance is a plus.


• Professional certifications such as LEED, ISSP-SA/CSP, or GHG-IQ preferred.
