In this role, you will provide technical underwriting expertise and guidance on General Liability matters while acting independently as a Technical Expert on casualty lines of business. Your contributions will support the achievement of business plans and product development, ensuring that innovative solutions are implemented effectively. Accountabilities
- Provide support to the underwriting audit process.
- Function as referral authority to Associate Underwriters, Underwriters and Senior Underwriters.
- Support the drafting of policy language and coordinate with Claims and Legal to finalize wording.
- Attend and participate in IT and Claims Committee meetings.
- Mentor and participate in training for Associate Underwriters, Underwriters, and Senior Underwriters.
- Participate in research projects on trends impacting Casualty business.
- Stay informed on market trends and contribute to new product development.
- Recommend risk appetite changes and contribute to technical standards.
- Lead aspects of portfolio management, including profitability analysis.
- Support underwriting initiatives and lead development of underwriting guidelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Minimum of 7-10 years commercial underwriting experience.
- Minimum of 5 years underwriting General Liability business in the E&S sector.
- Firm technical knowledge of all Casualty lines of coverage.
- Coursework toward applicable designation(s) preferred.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Proven ability to mentor and train personnel.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to manage deadlines effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Innovative mindset and technical proficiency.
