Sr VMWare Engineer

1 Source is looking for a Sr VMWare Engineer to directly support ongoing virtual operations of DOE data centers, servers, networks, firewalls, storage, cloud (C2S), VDI and desktop computing environments, as well as the development of strategic cloud modernization solutions. 

Duties include:  

- Lead and manage the administrative and design tasks for the virtualized server infrastructure

- Deploy, configure and maintain VMware infrastructure

- Enterprise Cloud Management and Administration (VMware vRA)

- Manage Enterprise Virtual Systems and Networks (VMwarevROPS)

- Provide support for Virtualization Infrastructure (VMware vSphere)

- Design, implement, and maintain VDI Infrastructure (VMware Horizon)

- Monitor performance of VMware vSphere and VDI infrastructure

- Virtual Application packaging and remediation

- Install, support, test, and troubleshoot applications

- Must have 15+ years of relevant IT Engineering experience

- Bachelor’s degree is required

- Must have an active Top Secret clearance; highly desired is a TS with SSBI within last 2 years or Q clearance or SCI.

- Experience supporting hyperconverged infrastructure preferred

- Working knowledge VMware PowerCLI.

- Experience with scripting languages (Python, Java, Visual Basic, or similar) in support of automated testing and deployment of systems and services strongly desired-

- Experience in supporting systems/applications development and deployment including containerization, automation and testing tools and methods highly preferred
