Job Description - (St. Charles) Receptionist
Position Summary
Under general supervision, operate a telephone console to service incoming calls, provide general information to callers and facilitate a smooth flow to the warehouse for customer order picking.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
The following duties are typical of those performed by employees in this job title; however, employees may perform other related duties, and not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each employee in the job title:
Operate multi-line switchboard equipment in order to transfer and answer incoming calls
Answer and direct phone calls in a polite and friendly manner
Determine intent of caller and make appropriate connection
Sort and distribute incoming mail
Greet people entering the building, answering any questions, providing directions and alerting staff when someone is there to meet or visit them
Train new receptionist in performance job duties
Scan and assign customer orders
Process and assign Will Call orders
Manifest truck deliveries
Perform order lookups
Process and assign cut and shearing orders
Utilize order dashboard to assign orders to a scan gun
Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs
Qualifications

High School diploma preferred
2 years of clerical, administrative or customer service experience
Experience in fishing/boating industry preferred but not required
Strong phone customer service skills
Proactive customer service, excellent communication and follow up, detail oriented, motivated, self-starter with a high work ethic along with good analytical problem solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook and experienced working with computers and the ability to learn, navigate and use designated software programs as required to perform job functions
Must be able to work independently in a fast paced environment and have the ability to interact professionally and positively with others within the department and organization
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs, bend, kneel, lifting heavy boxes and putting them into storage
