ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES - TheStaff Accountant serves as a core member of the accounting team and plays an important role in driving month-end and year-end closes. This role oversees the accounts payable and expense reporting tasks of the department, as well as performing bank reconciliations, budget analysis and aging reports, and other organizational initiatives of the Company, including but not limited to the following:

• Assists in supporting and processing month-end close; including but not limited to preparing journal entries and preparation of financial statements.
• Responsible for monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations.
• Responsible for posting cash receipts
• Owns accounts payable process including reviewing vendor files, obtaining payment authorization, investigating invoicing discrepancies, and obtaining W9's as needed
• Supports best practices and efficiencies with improving AP process
• Oversees expense reporting/credit card reporting process and related process improvements
• Prepares journal entries
• Prepares bank reconciliations
• Conducts variance analysis of budget vs actual
• Prepares accounts receivable aging reports
• Works collaboratively in a team environment with willingness to take on additional task
• Complies with federal, state and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed. 

ROLE QUALIFICATIONS 

• Education – Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance preferred
• Experience - A minimum 2 years’ experience as an staff accountant
