What You'll Do:
Financial Accounting Proficiency:
Demonstrated ability to accurately record and post financial transactions in compliance with GAAP and organizational standards.
Assist the Purchasing Coordinator, Accounts Payable & Receivable Specialists in accuracy in processing, tracking, and maintaining financial records, ensuring consistency and reliability in all documentation.
Attention to Detail:
Support preparation for audits and assist with internal controls and compliance
Help maintain accurate and organized digital and paper filing systems
Team Collaboration:
Assist the Senior Staff Accountants with monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes
Collaborate with team members on financial reporting and special projects as needed
Organizational and Time Management Skills:
Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain structured digital and physical filing systems to support efficient workflow and compliance.

Requirements
Education:
Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Required)
Coursework or certification in nonprofit accounting or fund accounting (Preferred)
Experience/Skills:
1-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a nonprofit setting (internships acceptable)
Understanding of basic accounting principles and practices
Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Blackbaud) and Microsoft Excel
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills
Experience with donor management systems or grant tracking software (Preferred)
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Normal office environment with minimal exposure to dust, noise, etc. Extended PC viewing and keyboarding required. Extended periods of sedentary work required.
