Staff Accountant

Description

• Support the finance department in the completion of month-end close tasks to ensure the accurate and timely closing of our financials each month. 
• Support the finance department in validating the accuracy of financials through monthly account and bank reconciliations. 
• Support the finance department in maintaining positive relationships with business members and leaders with whom you work 

• Developing a good understanding of our accounting software packages – Manage 2000, Prophet 21 and other software such as Tableau or OneStream. 
• Developing a good understanding of our various business models 
• Good communication with our members outside the Lakeville finance department (ie: branch personnel, regional controllers, regional credit managers; manufacturing personnel, facility controllers and credit managers; Corporate shared services personnel, accounting and treasury members.) 

• Intermediate or advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software including Excel and Word 
• 0-3 Years experience 
• Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred 
• General understanding of accounting software and proficiency with picking up new software 
• High attention to detail and personal accountability 
• Organized, self-motivated, and the ability to work independently or within small groups 
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills 
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization
