Pathway Talent Partners is conducting a confidential search on behalf of a growing and well-established organization seeking a Staff Accountant to join its accounting team.


This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close activities, and contributing to the financial health of a growing business. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and motivated to continuously improve processes while partnering with colleagues across the organization.


Position Overview


The Staff Accountant will play a key role in day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring financial transactions are recorded accurately and financial reporting is completed in a timely manner. This individual will support month-end and year-end close activities, perform reconciliations, assist with regulatory reporting, and help strengthen accounting processes as the business continues to grow.


Key Responsibilities


General Accounting & Financial Reporting



  • Prepare journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger accounts.

  • Complete monthly bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations.

  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.

  • Prepare supporting schedules and account analyses for financial reporting.

  • Review transactions for proper classification, accuracy, and documentation.

  • Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and variances.


Operational Accounting



  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed.

  • Track and reconcile fixed assets, prepaid expenses, accruals, and other balance sheet accounts.

  • Assist with cash management and cash flow reporting.

  • Prepare recurring internal financial and management reports.

  • Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation.


Compliance & Process Improvement



  • Assist with sales tax filings, 1099 reporting, and other regulatory requirements.

  • Help develop, document, and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.

  • Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and reporting capabilities.

  • Support special projects and financial analysis initiatives as assigned.


Desired Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.

  • 1-5 years of progressive accounting experience.

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles.

  • Experience utilizing accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

  • Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.

  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential financial information with professionalism.
