This role will primarily focus on managing the corporate accounting functions for period-end closing journal entries, high level account reconciliations, general ledger maintenance and other projects and business analyses. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in corporate accounting principles and a passion for contributing to the success of a dynamic organization within the restaurant industry.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES – Including, but not limited to:
· Prepare and document closing journal entries each period.
· Assist with the period-end, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting process.
· Distribute weekly reports to various users.
· Perform account reconciliations and analyses.
· Maintain changes to the general ledger and modifications of reports.
· Serve as a liaison between operational analysts and the financial reporting group.
· Maintain and enhance internal control processes and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and corporate policies.
· Continuously evaluate corporate accounting processes and systems, identifying opportunities for automation, standardization, and efficiency improvements.
· Other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
· 4+ years of significant staff accounting or related experience, preferably within the restaurant or hospitality industry.
· Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and general accounting.
· Ability to manage multiple time demands and deadlines.
· Ability to prepare financial analyses from general ledger data.
· Understanding of computerized accounting system.
· Advanced Excel skills.
· Outstanding interpersonal, problem solving and decision-making skills.
· Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
· Detail oriented, positive attitude and a proven ability to succeed.
· Public accounting experience.
· JD Edwards experience a plus.
Certifications & Licenses:
· Certified Public Accountant preferred.
