Staff Accountant - Join a Market Leader

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Pine Brook, New Jersey. The role involves conducting month-end closes, working with Quickbooks and Excel, and managing balance sheets. This position is located 100% in the office, with working hours from 9-5 and a 1-hour lunch break.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct month-end closes to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial reports
• Utilize Quickbooks and Excel for financial data management and analysis
• Prepare and review balance sheets to assess the financial position of the company
• Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures
• Collaborate with team members to improve financial processes and systems
• Conduct regular audits and implement corrective actions when necessary
• Provide support to team members and management on specific financial issues and inquiries
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial policies, regulations, and industry trends to provide suitable recommendations
• Assist in the training of Entry Level (EL) accountants and provide guidance to those with experience
• Work in a 100% in-office environment, adhering to the set working hours and break schedules.• Must hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Demonstrated ability to handle 'Month End Close' procedures.
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• At least 2 years of experience in a Staff Accountant or similar role.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
