Staff Attorney - Commercial Litigation

Role Overview:

We are looking for a seasoned litigator with 5+ years of commercial litigation experience for a Staff Attorney position. This opportunity is perfect for individuals passionate about consumer financial services litigation.

Key Responsibilities:

- Collaborate on litigating and settling consumer financial services cases for financial institutions, guided by Partners in the Consumer Litigation practice group.

- Handle day-to-day management of litigation and arbitration, including reviewing correspondence and pleadings, ensuring timely reporting of critical issues to the Partner.

- Ensure all litigation deadlines are met by managing the litigation calendar, overseeing document review, supervising local counsel, and drafting pleadings and motions.

- Lead in settlement negotiations, communicate with opposing counsel, prepare client settlement recommendations, and draft settlement agreements.

- Represent the firm in court appearances and arbitration merits hearings as required.

Qualifications:

- Demonstrate strong academic credentials, excellent writing and analytical abilities, and exceptional attention to detail.

- Ability to multitask efficiently and manage interactions with opposing counsel confidently.

- Preferred experience in handling arbitration matters within JAMS or AAA, defending financial institutions and commercial clients against consumer protection, banking, privacy law claims, and/or bankruptcy court experience (including adversary proceedings).

- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school is mandatory.

- Active bar membership in good standing in California is required.
