The Staff Auditor supports the Internal Audit department in performing financial, operational, compliance, and data-driven audits at Argonne National Laboratory.
This role offers hands-on experience in auditing, data analytics, and compliance with federal requirements while working in a collaborative, mission-driven environment. You will work under close supervision, receive structured training, and contribute to audits that support the laboratory’s mission.
Key Responsibilities
This position is mostly on-site and requires the ability to maintain a minimum of three-day per week on-site presence at the Argonne National Laboratory site in Lemont, Illinois. The first 30 days will require an on-site presence of 4 days per week.

Progress toward a professional certification such as CIA, CPA, CISA, or other audit/accounting credential approved by Chief Audit Executive.
Familiarity with internal control frameworks (COSO, GAO Green Book) and risk assessment methodologies.
Exposure to auditing, accounting, or compliance work (including internships, academic projects, or entry-level positions).
Experience in federal contractor, grant, or government auditing environments.

Full timeThe expected hiring range for this position is $60,750.00 - $94,770.00.Please note that the pay range information is a general guideline only. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as, but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, business considerations, internal equity, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
