Job Title: RN- Staff Development Coordinator, Healthcare
Location: 3935 Sunnyside Drive, Harrisonburg, VA 22801
Hours: Full-Time. Rotating on-call schedule.
Position Overview & General Responsibilities:
As the Staff Development Coordinator, this team member plays a vital role in shaping the growth and success of our nursing team. This individual primarily supports the education of our nurse aide students by delivering engaging training, hands-on education, and personalized mentoring. The Staff Development Coordinator also leads comprehensive programs, including, but not limited to: clinical skills, regulatory compliance training, dementia care, CPR, feeding assistance, and additional educational and skills-based topics. - Collaborate with healthcare leadership and interdisciplinary teams to ensure overall nursing care and regulatory compliance, maintaining nursing standards.
- Develop, coordinate, and deliver in-service training programs and educational opportunities for nursing staff and healthcare team members, addressing individual and team needs.
- Ensure all training meets state and federal requirements, maintaining accurate records of in-service hours and program details, and forwarding documentation to HR.
- Oversee nurse aide program management, including offering support during new team member orientation, clinical competencies, and electronic medical record training.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and routine skills monitoring to ensure staff meet nursing standards and competency requirements.
- Support the Infection Control Preventionist & Infection Control efforts by assisting with vaccinations, infection tracking, record maintenance, and general infection prevention procedures.
- Participate in Quality Assurance Performance Improvement activities and assist nursing leadership as needed.
- Coordinate CPR, CNA, and Med Tech training programs both on-site and through third-party vendors.
- Share on-call and weekend support duties on a rotating basis.
- Attend continuing education to stay current with educational methods and nursing standards.

Requirements
- Must have an active RN license in the state of Virginia.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in long-term care is required
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred
- Background in training adults preferred
- Background as a nurse supervisor or manager preferred
- Knowledge of long-term care regulations and compliance
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, and goal-oriented
- Self-starter and takes initiative; driven to succeed and see others succeed
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet with team members on all shifts in a 24/7 environment
