Job Description - Staff Development Manager (RN)

Brookfield Health and Rehabilitation of Cascadia is a mission-driven skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility located in the heart of Battle Ground, WA. We are committed to being a Force for Good in our community by providing compassionate, person-centered care that enhances the lives of our residents and empowers our team members. 

We are seeking a dedicated Staff Development Manager (RN) to lead and coordinate clinical education and training programs across our facility. This role plays a key part in ensuring our staff delivers exceptional, compliant care and is also responsible for managing CNAs and contributing to the Infection Control and Employee Health Programs. 

What you'll do:

  • Plan, develop, and implement ongoing education and training for nursing and ancillary staff.
  • Manage the recruitment, onboarding, performance, and training of CNAs.
  • Oversee orientation for all new staff and contract employees.
  • Serve as the facility’s Infection Preventionist and chair the Infection Control Committee.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and company training and documentation standards.
  • Provide CPR certification and hands-on clinical instruction.
  • Coordinate student clinical placements and faculty orientation.
  • Lead the Employee Health Program, including screenings, vaccinations, and follow-up care.
  • Participate actively in QAPI, safety, and performance improvement initiatives.

What we're looking for:

  • Graduate of an accredited RN program (BSN preferred).
  • Current RN license in the state of employment.
  • CPR certification required; CPR instructor certification preferred.
  • Certified in Infection Control preferred.
  • 3+ years of nursing experience (1+ year in long-term care required).
  • Experience as a clinical instructor and/or in acute care preferred.
  • Familiarity with long-term care regulations and survey processes.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to assess educational needs and create engaging training.
  • A team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently.
  • Comfortable navigating change, performance issues, and regulatory requirements.
  • Commitment to ethical practice, resident-centered care, and continuous improvement.
