Verdantas is a national consulting group seeking a talented Geologist to join our team in the Irvine, CA office.
Responsibilities:
- Continue to build knowledge of California geology, engineering geology, geotechnical engineering, and subsurface investigation practices
- Conduct field work, including soil/bedrock drilling, sampling, and logging, and prepare geologic maps, etc
- Install monitoring equipment including percolation test wells and slope inclinometers, etc
- Collection and analysis of field data
- Record field findings and write clear and concise geotechnical reports
- Provide fieldwork oversight of subcontractors
- Interact with clients in a professional manner
- Review historical aerial photographs
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Geology or related discipline
- 0-2 years of relevant experience
- Ability to conduct fieldwork with some heavy lifting
- Proficient with MS Office suite of products
- Previous consulting experience is a plus
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check
