Our employees are not only part of history, they\u0027re making history.\n\nNorthrop Grumman Defense Systems is currently seeking a Missile Systems Engineer level 5 to join the systems engineering team on our Stand-in Attack Weapon (SiAW) Program and work with our talented Advanced Weapons team in Northridge, CA.\n\nThis position is required to be full-time, on-site in the Northridge, CA location. No remote/telework arrangement is available for this position. Applicants must have an active US Government DoD Secret security clearance with ability to get cleared for SAP.\n\nAs a Missile Systems Engineer 5 with our world\u2011leading missile program, you\u2019ll be at the heart of designing, testing, and fielding cutting\u2011edge missile solutions that protect our nation\u2019s interests. If you thrive in high\u2011stakes environments, love solving complex problems, and are passionate about safeguarding global stability, this is the career\u2011defining opportunity you\u2019ve been waiting for.\n\nThe ideal candidate will have extensive systems engineering experience throughout the whole lifecycle of a missile/defense product, from concept/proposal/estimate through production/sustainment as well as managing cost and schedule.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n * Perform requirements development, management, analysis, and traceability, to translate customer requirements and CONOPS into systems requirements, and further allocate to lower-level requirements\n * Perform functional analysis and systems trade studies for technical solutions with respect to concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, and maintenance\n * Support system/subsystems integration, test, and requirements verification activities\n * Define and track system technical performance measurement\n * Generate well-defined and executable system and subsystem requirements documents, interface documents, and test and verification documents\n * Prepare system engineering materials during System Requirements Review, System Functional Review, Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review, System Verification Review, Test Readiness Review, and other program reviews as needed\n * Ensure proper engineering rigor across engineering design activities via process, and documentation/modeling practices (IAW Functional Best Practices and Principles and Operating Practices (PrOP)).\n * Collaborate internally and externally for program execution\n * Support Program Management activities to ensure cost and schedule objectives are met\n * Support proposal and program planning; develop basis of estimates and support the development of the technical volume.\n\n\n\nBasic qualifications:\n\n * Bachelor of Science in an engineering discipline and a minimum of twelve (12) years of systems engineering experience; will consider a Master of Science in an engineering discipline and a minimum of ten (10) years of the same experience\n * Experience in requirements decomposition, integration, verification planning, and requirement sell-off\n * Experience in full systems engineering lifecycle for complex defense or weapon systems\n * Experience in communicating with all levels of peers, management, and customers in a methodical, detailed and process-oriented fashion.\n * Current US Government DoD Secret security clearance\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Active DoD Secret Clearance with periodic reinvestigation within the last five (5) years and be able to be cleared for a Special Access Program (SAP).\n * Experience in Verification and Validation\n * Experience with Digital Engineering\n * Experience in successfully managing project costs and schedules\n\n\n\n#LI-MA.\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $177,000.00 - $265,000.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.\n\nThe application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
