Our employees are not only part of history, they\u0027re making history.\n\nNorthrop Grumman\u2019s Defense Systems division is looking for an experienced Missiles Test Laboratory Lead 5 to join the Advanced Weapons group in Northridge, CA. The MTL Lead will help manage the operations of multiple integration laboratories that will require tracking inventory and creating processes for laboratory operations customized for multiple weapons programs and activities.\n\nThis position is required to be full-time, on-site in the Northridge, CA location. No remote/telework arrangement is available for this position. Applicants must have a current US Government Secret security clearance.\n\nAs a member of the Test and Evaluation Engineering department, the Missile Test Laboratory Lead will lead the operation of multiple integration labs supporting cutting\u2011edge missile programs. You will work closely with hardware, systems, and software engineering teams to develop, execute, and document test procedures that ensure our missile systems perform flawlessly from component level through full system integration.\n\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:\n\nLab Development \u0026 Integration\n\n * Manage and support the development of laboratory spaces in partnership with engineers, security, and other stakeholders to develop and test missile components and subsystems.\n * Provide input on the architecture of integration facilities, specifying state\u2011of\u2011the\u2011art lab equipment, defining infrastructure requirements, and overseeing procurement of hardware.\n\n\n\nProgram \u0026 Test Management\n\n * Define resource requirements for missile flight\u2011test campaigns and other hardware/software integration activities in the labs.\n * Brief management on lab status and progress.\n\n\n\nTechnical Leadership \u0026 Execution\n\n * Contribute to integration and test of hardware and software on a wide range of systems in collaboration with a diverse group of engineers.\n\n\n\nSafety, Compliance \u0026 Risk Management\n\n * Enforce all applicable safety protocols (DOE, OSHA, DoD, NTIA) and ensure proper hazardous\u2011material handling.\n * Conduct risk assessments, safety briefings, and incident investigations; maintain compliance with policies and procedures.\n\n\n\nOperational Efficiency \u0026 Process Development\n\n * Identify organization\u2011wide efficiencies, streamline current plans while still meeting program needs, and implement cost\u2011saving measures.\n * Create, document, and roll out lab processes and guidelines; ensure users adhere to rules and maintain an organized, clean, and safe work environment.\n\n\n\nData Management \u0026 Equipment Tracking\n\n * Organize and maintain detailed records of lab equipment, hardware, and instrumentation tracking and audit purposes.\n * Work with internal customers to define and document instrumentation, data requirements, and test planning, including data acquisition, processing, and analysis to satisfy test objectives.\n\n\n\nTeam \u0026 Stakeholder Coordination\n\n * Liaise with program managers, system engineers, vendors, and subcontractors; facilitate lab briefs, reviews of operations, and needs.\n\n\n\nBudget \u0026 Resource Control\n\n * Manage laboratory budget, procure equipment, negotiate contracts with vendors and subcontractors.\n\n\n\nBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) with 12 + years of relevant test and evaluation experience or a Master\u2019s degree in a STEM discipline with 10 + years of the same experience.\n * Experience in test and evaluation processes and procedures, supporting both management and engineering activities within a test\u2011laboratory environment.\n * Hands\u2011on expertise in developing, executing, and maintaining test procedures, including software\u2011configuration management.\n * Strong proficiency with standard test equipment and instrumentation.\n * Excellent written and verbal communication skills combined with meticulous organizational abilities.\n * Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a team\u2011oriented setting.\n * Current U.S. Government Secret security clearance\n\n\n\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:\n\n * Top Secret Clearance\n * Knowledge of SW integration\n * Troubleshooting systems and hardware set up\n * Experience with hypersonic or directed\u2011energy missile programs.\n * Familiarity with model\u2011based systems engineering (MBSE) tools (e.g., SysML, Cameo).\n\n\n\n#LI-MA.\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $161,000.00 - $241,400.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
