Core Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day pharmacy technician workflows, staffing, and task delegation.
- Ensure technicians are properly trained, supported, and prepared for changing volume demands.
- Participate in recruiting and hiring; communicate staffing needs and pharmacist-to-tech ratio concerns to Leadership and People Operations.
- Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and quarterly development check-ins; recognize strong performance.
- Address performance gaps through coaching, documentation, and corrective action when necessary.
- Review and approve timekeeping, PTO requests, and adherence to labor policies.
- Monitor daily backlog and workflow metrics; adjust team assignments based on operational needs.
- Lead or participate in daily team huddles to communicate priorities and expectations.
- Provide expert consultations to customers on medication use, interactions, side effects, dosing, and storage.
- Communicate with veterinarians to obtain, clarify, or modify prescriptions and provide therapeutic guidance.
- Enter and review prescriptions with exceptional accuracy.
- Dispense, check, package, and ship medication orders.
- Participate in Koala’s Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) program, identifying and preventing prescription errors.
- Serve as pharmacist on duty as required.
- Order, receive, and stock medications according to company policies and regulatory standards.
- Maintain proper storage, security, and handling of all medications.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations and practice standards.
- Support maintenance of accurate prescription and recordkeeping systems.
- Perform additional duties to support safe, efficient, and compliant pharmacy operations.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and values-driven culture within the pharmacy.
- Address morale concerns proactively and support a collaborative team environment.

Requirements
- Ability to commute to office office Monday - Friday to Boston, MA Headquarters
- Minimum of 4+ years of pharmacy experience
- Doctor of Pharmacy or equivalent degree
- Active/Unrestricted Pharmacist license in good standing with Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy and other licensed jurisdictions
- Strong understanding of pharmacy regulations, workflows, and clinical best practices
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and safety
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, evolving work environment
- Not on the DEA Excluded Parties List / free of pending felony charges or convictions for criminal offenses involving controlled substances
