What You’ll Do
Position Summary: The Staff Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring and educating on the safe, therapeutic and rational utilization of medications within the Adena Health System. This position ensures compliance with all applicable laws, accrediting standards, health system policies and sound pharmaceutical ethics. Decisions are made independently or in collaboration with another Pharmacist or healthcare provider. This position may have access to patient and financial confidential information, non-controlled and controlled drugs and certain hospital funds. The Staff Pharmacist maintains competency and works with patients in all age groups unless assigned to work with a specific age group. Depending on area of assignment, the Staff Pharmacist may be required to complete the following tasks: direct patient interactions such as medication and disease state education counseling, minor lab procedures and interpret lab results, administer injections, and work according to approved health system protocols. As needed, this position may allow or require coverage at any Adena entity with responsibilities that vary based on location or services provided.
Minimum Qualifications Required Educational Degree: Graduate of an ACPE Accredited BS or PharmD Program in Pharmacy Major/Area of Concentration:
Required Certifications, Credentials and Licenses: Current license to practice Pharmacy in the State of Ohio, BLS ACLS based on area assigned
Preferred Certifications, Credentials and Licenses: Immunization Certification dependent on area assigned Required Experience: Preferred Experience: 1-2 years in area of assignment
