Staff Physician - Per Diem

• The Adult Urgent Care Center at San Francisco General Hospital is seeking board certified (or board eligible) Family Medicine, Internal Medicine or Emergency Medicine Physicians to join our clinic. 
• We see adult patients from a diverse, underserved population for urgent medical problems. 
• Physicians are paired 1:1 with a nurse or medical assistant during patient care sessions.
• Shifts are 8 hours and physicians should be prepared to see up to 3 patients per hour.
• Robust system in place for per-diem physician result follow-up.  
• We are especially in need of physicians who can commit to working weekends. 

• Per diem physicians are currently expected to commit to:
  • one regularly scheduled shift per week;
  • and at least 12 months of service.

Required Qualifications:

•  Board-certified or board-eligible Family Medicine, Internal Medicine or Emergency Medicine physicians (MD/DO) with a strong foundation in clinical care
•  Physicians who are energized by meaningful, mission-driven work, caring for patients with complex medical and social needs in a dynamic outpatient setting
•  Clinicians who are excited to practice in an academic setting, leveraging opportunities for professional growth, mentorship, and faculty development
•  Physicians who are passionate about serving a diverse, safety-net patient population and contributing to the mission of ZSFG and UCSF
•  Deep commitment to serving vulnerable populations in a safety-net setting
•  Strong teamwork, clinical judgment, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• - Bilingual in English and Spanish or Cantonese (native-level fluency)
• - Experience working with underserved populations and navigating complex care environments
• - Ability to thrive in dynamic outpatient settings and work collaboratively

License/Certification:

• Board-certified or board-eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine or Emergency Medicine
