Staff Software Engineer, Android

Acts as a project or system leader, coordinating the activities of other engineers on the project or within the system Determines the technical tasks that other engineers will follow Actions result in the achievement of customer, operational, program or service objectives Proactively improves existing structures & processes Exercises judgement in reconciling diverse and competing priorities (time, quality, complexity risk) to identify optimal solutions to problems Notices patterns and condenses repetition into densely meaningful generalized solutions Collaborates with management to set/improve standards for engineering rigor Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Extensive expertise in Android development, with deep proficiency in Kotlin and Java and experience delivering scalable, high-quality mobile applications. Proven ability to design and architect complex, reliable, and maintainable mobile systems, including reusable libraries and shared platforms. Strong foundation in mobile architecture, object-oriented design, and modern Android frameworks (Jetpack, Compose), with emphasis on clean code and testing best practices. Experience integrating with SQL/NoSQL databases and using ORM frameworks such as Hibernate or JPA. Demonstrated success leading cross-functional technical initiatives, influencing engineering direction, and promoting best practices across teams. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate complex technical challenges into practical, scalable solutions. Experience with mobile payment technologies and integrations. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins), application monitoring tools (Crashlytics, Fabric), and automated testing frameworks (Appium, Cucumber). Knowledge of React Native, performance optimization, and emerging technologies such as AI/ML, AR, VR, and wearables. Recognized for mentoring senior engineers and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
