How you’ll contribute 

A Staffing Coordinator who excels in this role:

  • Supports nursing administration by coordinating daily staffing needs, calculating requirements based on patient acuity and flexible staffing models, and maintaining accurate records and reports.
  • Proactively monitors staffing levels and resolves shortages in alignment with established staffing plans.
  • Communicates anticipated or actual staffing issues to the appropriate Director in a timely manner.
  • Determines, coordinates, and oversees staffing assignments for Patient Sitters to ensure appropriate coverage.
  • Recruits, orients, trains, coaches, and mentors Patient Sitters; assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Assesses and ensures the quality of services delivered, supports staff development initiatives, and promotes compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Prepares and edits correspondence, reports, presentations, and other written communications.
  • Receives, screens, and routes visitors and telephone calls; responds to, escalates, and follows up on inquiries and issues as appropriate.
  • Schedules and coordinates meetings, conferences, special events, and appointments.
  • Maintains assigned calendars, files, and office equipment.
  • Orders, tracks, and stocks office and departmental supplies.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate’s degree is preferred.
