Position: Starbucks Shift Leader

Reports To: Starbucks Store Manager

POSITION PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES:

The Store Shift Leader will be part of the leadership team at Owensboro's newest Starbucks, with opportunity to open the store, and foster and maintain the Starbucks Experience for our customers and partners. The Starbucks Shift Leader is responsible for leading the daily operations of the store during assigned shifts by providing direction, coaching, and support to the barista team. This position ensures exceptional customer service, maintains Starbucks operational standards, and creates a welcoming environment where customers and team members can thrive. The Shift Leader serves as a role model by promoting teamwork, accountability, safety, and operational excellence while assisting the Store Manager in achieving business goals.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred


• At least 6 months of customer service experience


• Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred


• Store communication and problem-solving skills


• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment


• Reliable transportation and excellent attendance


• Ability to work morning, evenings, weekends, and holidays


• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead daily store operations during assigned shifts


• Coach and support baristas to deliver outstanding customer service


• Ensure beverages and food are prepared to Starbucks standards


• Open and/or close the store following company procedures


• Manage cash handling, deposits, and tills accurately


• Delegate tasks and maintain smooth workflow during busy periods


• Maintain food safety, cleanliness, and operational standards


• Resolve customer concerns professional


• Train new team members and provide ongoing coaching


• Foster a positive, respective, and inclusive work environment
