State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA)

As a STNA you will play a vital role in providing direct care and support to our residents, assisting with activities of daily living, promoting their independence and ensuring their comfort and well-being.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

? Provide direct care to residents under the supervision of licensed nursing staff, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.

? Assist residents with mobility and transfers, using proper lifting and position techniques to ensure their safety and comfort.

? Monitor residents’ vital signs, intake and output, and report any changes or concerns to the nursing team.

? Assist with resident admission, transfers, and discharges, including orienting new residents to their surrounding and helping them settle into their rooms.

? Support residents social and recreational activities by engaging them in meaningful interactions, escorting them to group activities and providing companionship.

? Maintain a clean and organized living environment for residents, including making beds, tidying rooms, and ensuring cleanliness and infection control standards are met.

? Assist with resident dining services, including meal set-up, feeding assistance, and recording food and fluid intake as directed.

? Document care provided and resident observations accurately and timely in accordance with facility polices and regulator requirements.

? Participate in educational opportunities and training programs to maintain STNA verification and enhance skills and knowledge in geriatric care.

? Assist new STNA team members with training and getting actuated with policies, procedures and the layout of the facility.

? Participate in team meetings and contribute to resident care planning and goal setting. ? Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment by demonstrating professionalism, teamwork, and effective communication skills.

? Perform all other duties assigned.

This position requires finger printing!

Job Qualifications:

• Current certification as a Nursing Assistant (STNA) in the state you work.
• CPR certification.
• Prior experience in a skilled nursing facility or similar medical setting preferred.
• Ability to build rapport with residents through a compassionate and caring demeanor.
• Commitment to providing high-quality, resident-centered care with empathy and compassion.
• Strong clinical skills in assessment, treatment planning and intervention implementation.

Physical Requirements:

• Work performed in a medical setting due to the need to care for residents in person.
• Must be able to sit, stand, bend, reach, talk, hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, stretch, and twist.
• Stamina to stand and move about the facility to perform frequent rounds and respond to emergent situations as needed.
• Emotional resilience and ability to cope with the physical and emotional demands of working with residents who may have complex healthcare needs.
• Capability to lift and transfer residents safely, with proper body mechanics and assistance as needed.
• Required vision includes close, vision, distance, peripheral, and the ability to adjust focus. ? Maintain regular attendance and timeliness as set forth within the work schedule designated by the department supervisor/manager.
• Job requires accepting criticism and dealing calmly and effectively with high-stress situations. ? The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without "giving out" or fatiguing.
• The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.
• The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects.

Schedule:

• Day shift 6am-230pm, Rotating schedule with every other weekend, Holidays.
