Stationary Engineer

Description

The San Francisco Conservatory of Music is looking for a Journeyman-level Engineer to assist in the O&M of its 1A eight-level facilities located in San Francisco's Civic Center.  The incumbent will perform duties as assigned by the CE and ACE and may serve as the onsite engineer on Saturdays.  

This position is covered under a Local 39 contract at the standard BOMA pay scale. 

Requirements

This position requires a strong background in Central Plant HVAC, as well as extensive experience with Life Safety, Electrical, and Plumbing systems.  The incumbent should have solid mechanical skills, to maintain and repair various types of equipment, and computer skills, with proficiency in Word and Excel, needed for documentation.  The Incumbent must be bondable with a valid CDL and auto insurance.  Candidates should also have:

• Four years of verifiable Journey-level experience in the repair and servicing of HVAC, Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems and associated equipment. Completion of a State approved (4 year) Stationary Engineer Apprenticeship Program with 1 year of Journey-level experience will be considered as well as any combination of qualifying training and experience that would provide the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of this position.
• Knowledge of boilers, heating, lighting, ventilating, air conditioning, electrical, refrigeration, and other mechanical equipment, and the methods, tools, materials and equipment used in the safe operation, maintenance and repair of such equipment.
• A high level of awareness of safe operating and repair practices and procedures for building mechanical systems.

Any offer of employment will be conditional pending drug test clearance and a physical abilities test, which includes lifting 50 lbs.
