Stationary Engineer

Overview:
As a Stationary Engineer at Velociti Services you will be responsible for operating and maintaining stationary engines and mechanical equipment, such as Chillers, air compressors, generators, Air Handlers, CRAC units, Boilers, Center wide BAS systems, SCADA electrical management systems to provide utilities, such as light, heat, cooling or power, for buildings and industrial processes: Reads meters and gauges or automatic recording devices at specified intervals to verify operating conditions.

Responsibilities:
Records data, such as temperature of equipment, hours of operation, fuel consumed, temperature or pressure, water levels, analysis of flue gases, voltage load, and generator balance.
Adjusts manual controls or overrides automatic controls to bring equipment into recommended or prescribed operating ranges, switch to backup equipment or systems, or to shut down equipment.
Visually inspects equipment at periodic intervals to detect malfunctions or need for repair, adjustment, or lubrication under a preventative maintenance program & service call program
Maintains equipment by tightening fittings, repacking bearings, replacing packing glands, gaskets, valves, recorders, and gauges, and cleaning or replacing burners or other components, using hand-tools and power tools.
May be required to hold license issued by state or municipality, restricting equipment operated to specified types and sizes.
May oil and lubricate equipment.
May perform water titration tests and pour chemical additives, such as water softener, into treatment tank to prevent scale buildup and to clean boiler lines.
May record operation and maintenance actions taken during shift in operators logbook.
May specialize in equipment designed for industrial processes and be designated Acid-Concentration-Plant-Equipment Engineer; Air-Compressor-Station Engineer; Diesel-Engine Operator, Stationary; Water-Pumping-Station Engineer.
Report after hour calls to management for determination of priority and action response.
Respond to basic calls outside of normal hours of operation to isolate urgent or emergency failures until proper trade can be on-site to correct issues outside of Engineer description.
All other duties as assigned.

Must have a State of New Jersey Boiler's

License

with High Pressure

Black Seal
Must have a valid State of NJ Drivers License.
Must be able to pass a background investigation for FAA/WJHTC Badge.
Physical Requirements
Applicants for this role must be able to:
Lift, bend, squat, and stretch to move boxes, parcels, and shipments
Climb small to medium flights of stairs multiple times a day
Standing for extended periods of time
Approximately equal amount of time sitting and walking
Requires ability to bend, reach and stand for extended periods
Able to hear and speak into a telephone and walkie-talkie
Close visual work on a computer terminal
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate any required computer keyboard, mouse, and other technical instruments
Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
Able to climb a ladder and work on a raised platform
