Job Description - Statistician

Peers and Partners, Inc. (Peers) is a management consulting and professional services company headquartered in Atlanta, GA. With a commitment to excellence and client service, we collaborate with federal agencies and commercial organizations to tackle complex challenges in health and education. At Peers, we are more than consultants—we are Partners dedicated to meaningful change. We are seeking a Statistician to support data analysis and dissemination activities. This role provides statistical analysis, quality assurance, and technical support to ensure accurate, timely, and methodologically sound public health data products for internal and external data users.



General Duties:



  • Data Requests & Analysis: Using SAS, perform analyses of survey microdata to generate descriptive statistics, prevalence estimates, and other analytic outputs in response to data requests.

  • Independent Verification: Conduct independent statistical analyses using SAS to validate estimates and analytic results prior to publication or release.

  • Data Query Product Support: Prepare analytic outputs and export estimates in the appropriate formats to support updates to CDC data query and dissemination tools.

  • Quality Assurance & Review: Review data query tools and other print and electronic data products to ensure accuracy, consistency, and correct application of statistical methodologies across text, tables, figures, and programming output.

  • Microdata Review: Review survey microdata for frequencies, skip patterns, and alignment with accompanying documentation prior to public release.

  • Automation & Efficiency: Assist with automating quality assurance activities using SAS and Excel to manage and validate large volumes of analytic output.

  • Reporting & Documentation: Prepare and submit a monthly activity report and contribute clear written summaries of analytic work.



Qualifications:



  • Educational Background: Minimum of 4 years of college-level education in statistics, mathematics, biostatistics, public health, or a related field.

  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience performing statistical analysis of survey or public health data.

  • Statistical Software Proficiency: Intermediate experience using SAS for data management, manipulation, and descriptive statistical analysis; familiarity with R is beneficial but not required.

  • Survey Data Expertise: Experience analyzing large-scale survey microdata (e.g., NHIS, RSS, or similar public health datasets).

  • Analytical Methods: Intermediate knowledge of statistical methods and techniques and their application to public health data analysis and evaluation.

  • Technical & Written Communication: Advanced writing skills for reporting statistical findings and conveying complex technical information clearly.

  • Productivity & Independence: Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and execute tasks independently while meeting production deadlines.

  • Collaboration & Communication: Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
